APPROACH

Our project team first analyzed CrossKnowledge’s online learning platform by performing a gap analysis to understand what is currently good, needs improvement, and could be developed based on the High Impact Learning that Lasts” (HILL) framework that incorporates decades of learning-based research. Subsequently, the project team designed a learning journey that captured the gaps and conducted brainstorming sessions to come up with recommendations.

RESEARCH & ANALYSIS

Through beta testing of the learning platform and scoring a validated questionnaire that measured the extent to which the learning platform complied with the HILL framework, the team came together to discuss the findings of our individual analyses. Subsequently, the team put together a final gap analysis comprising all 7 building blocks of the HILL model along with detailed analyses of: (1) the good, (2) needs improvement, and (3) missing:

BRAINSTORMING & DESIGN THINKING

Role: Facilitator

Based on the results of our analysis, the team undertook a 2-day brainstorming session utilizing design thinking principles. First, the team utilized a learner persona to empathize and understand the learners’ challenges and goals. Next, the team summarized the problem and improvement areas for each of the 7 HILL building blocks. Per each building block, the team brainstormed ideas and recommendations using a divergent and convergent brainstorming approach. After converging on agreed upon ideas, a mind map was drawn to summarize the findings. Finally, the team grouped recommendations together based on feasibility and priority levels.
